The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is dedicated to the idea
that United States health care can do better. The 99 million
Americans who suffer from diabetes, depression and other chronic
conditions can lead healthier lives.

Center for Research on Chronic Illness at the University of North
Carolina Chapel Hill has been funded by the National Institute of
Nursing Research (NIH) since 1994 to promote excellence in nursing
research. The center includes 24 federally funded research projects,
a pilot study program, and a range of services to advance research
on preventing and managing chronic illness in vulnerable people.
